Sunset Yellow FCF (FD&C Yellow No. 6, E110) is an azo dye approved for use in pharmaceutical oral solid and liquid dosage forms and in food products to impart an orange-yellow colour. Lake Sunset Yellow is the aluminium lake form — water-insoluble and preferred for solid dosage forms, oil-based preparations, and tablet coatings where moisture sensitivity is a concern.
