Brilliant Blue FCF (FD&C Blue No. 1, E133) is a synthetic blue dye used in pharmaceutical and food applications for bright blue colouration. When blended with Tartrazine, it produces green shades. Available as a highly water-soluble dye for liquid preparations and as an aluminium lake for tablet coatings and solid dosage forms.
